Call for Papers: DiE Days 2021

The seventh annual Drama in Education Days will take place online from September 10th-12th 2021. Should the pandemic situation allow for it, a hybrid-format with a day of on-site workshops (Germany) might become possible, but we will not be able to make a decision on this before late spring/early summer 2021.

The bilingual conference (English and German) focuses on best practice and research in the field of Drama and Theatre in Education in second and foreign language teaching.

Abstracts may be submitted in German or English (max. 300 words). Please include a brief biography (max. 50 words).  Submission deadline is April 15th, 2021.

We welcome contributions from teachers, scholars, and performers working with drama and theatre in language education at all levels from primary to tertiary, including teacher training. Submissions should reflect on best practice or disseminate research findings in the form of:

  1. a) 15-minute paper presentations (to be uploaded as video or PPT with voice-over ahead of the conference), during the conference you will lead a live Q&A on your presentation (ca. 20 min)
  2. b) 60/90-minute workshops (please indicate preferred length – 90-minute slots are limited)
    c) a presentation and discussion of a performance piece is also possible
